That's what originally crossed with the domestics to give us what we have. That's a pure Russian hog there.

Definitely has a lot of Russian Boar bood lines. It looks like one of those Russians from Canada.

Yup!!! An escapee from one of those Canadian wild boar meat farms. Piggie really looks good with all that Russkie blood line. 'Nuff said.

Hmmm. I see some Russian but Pure Russian? What makes you say that? It looks like most any of the decent wild hogs Iv'e seen killed in CA. Just wondering?

Certainly it looks similar but just the color alone sets this one apart. Look at how dense and wooly the coat is. Russian hogs have a wooly undercoat....domestics don't. Look at the size and shape of the head, size and shape of the ears, color on the face, color of the legs and body, Compared to the rest of the states, I'd say California, for the most part, has more Russian influence showing than domestic. There are areas where you see alot more domestic colorings than you might in others, but for the most part we have pretty good looking hogs. That being said, you don't find hogs that look like the one in the pickup around here very often. Usually there is a few features you can pick out that show some domestic influence. I found a pic from a European hog. Looks pretty similar to the one in the truck huh?
