One angler has spent years refining his approach

It only took a few dips of the rod tip and Mike Suitt knew what was in store.

"This feels like a walleye," he said as he pointed his rod at the water and lifted it slowly.

When the rod showed the weight of a slow-moving fish, he set the hook, smiled and said, "Yep, that's a walleye, but I don't think it's a keeper."

Within a minute he had the fish in his boat, unhooked, measured and released.
