Here's the site I used to generate the map . . . wasn't easy . . . :confused:

I appreciate the effort I know its not that easy to set up a map. I am going to assume and correct me if I am wrong that the circles do not represent the exact location of where pigs are harvested in a given county. For example the 12 reported pigs killed in LA County I would assume occured mostly in the southern portion of the Tejon Ranch while the coulored dot appears to be in the San Gabrial Valley. I am suprised that the pig harvest is so low. I didnt do an exact count but it looks like approx 2k pigs are harvested per year in Cal. Maybe 3k after say 3 years of heaavy rains.

Thanks Again;

Sorry, tried to get actual counts and totals into the map but I ain't smart enuff, yet. The circles are just a proportional aid to see where the largest harvest has been taken, it was a bit surprising to me also. I have no doubt that this "Volunteered" data is skewed but it's a lot more accurate than anything else I could find. Here's some more info . . .

I personally know of hundreds (literally) of tags that don't get sent in each year. Just something to keep in mind. I highly doubt that even 30% of tags get returned after being filled. The proportions may be fairly accurate though.

Yeah that's what I figured too, this data is just like polling data the proportions per county are gtg but the accuracy of the actual data is suspect.
Here's the percentage per county if interested. Wish the table command worked on this forum.

Thanks again Brian for the effort to keep statistics on pigs. It looks like rainfall makes a huge difference in how many are harvested. I suppose if there were a lot of game wardens then hunters would be more motivated to fill out and mail their tags back.

Now it costs an additional $.44 for the stamp! In addition to the $20.52 you already paid.
