first i would like to thank Mel for setting up this hunt and to george and his help that he had there.
on this hunt i felt that people were not that happy about this hunt and i could be wrong. on this hunt george knows this ranch better then anyone and gives really good advice on how to hunt weather anyone listens or not, last year and this year george said to take our time and not to rush through a area and to scope out the area you heading and use your binoculars and check it out then move to that area that had to be the best advice he said last year i went kinda fast on friday and didn't really see anything expecting to see hogs everywere that was not going to happen then on sat i walked so slow barely moving and trying not to make any noise and seen over 60 hogs and could not stop stalking them.On this hunt i was not as in shape as i was last year there are alot of steep climbs on this hunt i tried to repeat this to everyone who was listing. i did not see as many as i did last year but that does not mean they r not there i can really spot game with out my binoculars but every time i thought i seen something i looked through them and most of the time it was a boulder or a bush. one group got a little confused on witch way to go a thought that they should have just split up some times it is better that way cause you could push the game to each other, i think one group got a little mad about what order people would get dropped off these hogs are roaming around for a long time these hogs don't have a alarm that says its 8 AM its time to race home and when you get to the spot you are hunting you don't see hogs running 40 miles a hour all over the place every hog i seen was just rooting thing up or walking to were ever it was heading. one group said hogs don't live in that really thick stuff maybe they live in a nice 5 star hotel. when i shot at the pig on sat i shot at him standing up and missed i do not practice like that when i shoot my rifle i always use a rest one time i seen i guy at the range and he would stand there with his rifle and would neil down and aim and shoot hella fast and he would do this 20 or so times i try to shoot my rifle as much as i can and am very comfortable with a steady rest and i practice slowing my breathing down all the time, if you were to go hunt some public land for pigs and all the time you spent driving there and hours you have spent in the field and shot at a animal and missed cause you may have not practiced that much then there will be more game for the next guy that is a good shot.all in all i did enjoy meeting everyone out there and wish i could have hunted with everyone and look forward to next year.ALSO WOULD LIKE TO THROW A SHOT OUT TO REDBULL AND SWAROVSKI OPTICS.

Good points. I would also like to point out that I have seen many hogs right in the middle of the day. Some of them on very heavily hunted land.

I barely saw a hog last year and it was on the last morning. Seemed everyone else saw hogs and my buddy even got on a hog with his bow the one time we split up (of course). I will say that a driver for each group would be nice but so would a ahem every morn from the missus. I figure 3 out of 11 isn't even that bad. It is hunting, and the ranch isn't a slaughterhouse. I just love being out there even thought the minutes feel like $. Mike and I are stoked to join next year. Mike says wassup Juantg.

This hunt is definitely a challenging hunt due to the terrain, i'm really only good for maybe two outings then I'm spent. Like mentioned above, this is hunting, I've been on this ranch and not seen anything and came home empty handed, then i've been there and seen 30 hogs in two days. George does his best at trying to put people on hogs, and would love for everyone to have killed one, but that will not always be the case. I hope nobody came away from this hunt with a bad experience, with a group of this size it's impossible to make everybody happy, all George can do is try his best and he does just that. I still say 7 out of 11 shooting opportunity is very good for a semi guided hunt.

I will continue to put this hunt together as long as there's interest. I know next year we will be his first clients. The weekends we pick are based on my weekend that I have off work, so next year that should be his opener in October.

Mel,
Any chance George will adjust back to how Mr. Whittaker operates the outfit? We used to be able to roam around by ourselves in quads or 4x4 under Mr. Whittaker. George won't allow that and my group stopped going there. I understand George is concerned about liability issue, but I think for guys that have been there a few times and knows their way around the property, should be given the opportunity to be on their own.

George had an issue last year where a guy was following him on the quad, he wrecked and dislocated his shoulder. I have known George for about 6 years, and he won't even let me drive around and roam. Most I can do is drive back to my spot. George will not run his business as Ken did, the owner didn't like how Ken did it, and the owner lives on the ranch. So to answer your question, No George will never allow hunters to roam. You have to remember, if you have a small group hunting and he has other hunters, he doesn't want someone roaming and jacking up someone elses hunt.
