Drove up from LA last year with my 14yo son... Totally worth it to see him smoke his first hog.... ig-laughing:

Schedules this year have him doing the FHL youth hunt on the same weekend, otherwise we'd be back on this huint this year with my 13yo also.

WPHI-4 isn't going to work out for us either for other scheduling issues, so we'll probably pass until next year for hogs.

Just to clarify something for those who don't know, we actually meet at the visitors center/fish hatchery parking lot. After driving down Dry Creek road about 12 miles from 101 at Healdsburg, once you cross over the creek it becomes Skaggs springs road, fish hatchery is on the right.

Just got back from the range, just had to double check my rifle. All is good, will pack everything this weekend, and them I'm ready!:smiley-mouse:

Just got off the phone with George, its all confirmed, meet at visitors center/fish hatchery at 11:00am.

George mentioned an issue he had last year (not our group) a guy rolled his quad and broke his arm. So I don't think he will be allowing them any longer, so if you bring one you may not be able to use it, just a heads up.

I'm taking 3 guys with me, and George will be taking the others. He may be a little short handed on Friday, but will have plenty of help on Saturday and Sunday. Either way we should be good.

I hope it cools down some, don't like hunting hogs in the heat.

it will definetly be warm. As for bringing a quad I brought mine last year and it never left camp. Pretty much anywhere we go hunt we can drive to and George has got a couple of Rangers with a lot of rope to drag your hog out from where ever it is. but im still up in the air about bringing mine just in case, there are a few more people this time around. there aren't any store near by so make sure you get what you need. ICE!!

I might be going for a double hog this time, a friend needs me to "donate" one for his party.

Just another quick note anyone not for familiar with the traffic on the way up. Anyone coming from the bay area already knows this but any freeway in the bay area will have traffic. Hwy 37 merges with hwy 101 at Novato and then merges down from three to two lanes and it can get a little backed up also hwy 37 can get pretty backed up too. Unless it's a furlough friday epect some sort of back up....
