Here is something I have a real tough time with, conservation groups like the NWTF and others that pay for State Wildlife biologist. Could you imagine if the anti gun lobby was paying the salaries of those that determine health policy. I am hesitant to eat my young on this issue but having personal experience with these types of groups I am revolted at the butt kissing going on (the conservation groups being the kisser) the state supllying the butt. I know it's all politics and back room dealing but is it wise as a people to let it happen?

Wait a minute, bimlie80. What exactly are you saying? You aren't asserting that conservation groups like the NWTF are paying the salaries of biologists within the DFG are you?

It is my understanding that they hire biolgists to help them determine their policies and conservation efforts.

The NWTF "partners" with Fish and Game by providing funding for the position of Fish and Game biologist. Becuase it is the NWTF I am not so bothered but what if the Sierra Club gets access to the same kind of influence, what if it becomes a peeing war over who can buy the most influence. Gov Davis isn't the only one for sale.

And why should some knucklehead at Fish and Game get a free seat at a conservation dinner when everyone else (the membership) has to pay. Let Fish and Game Kiss our butts, we are the ones supporting them with our licenses and Ammo purchases.

Really? Call me ignorant, but I never would have thought that this system would be legal; it certainly is not ethical. Where did you get your information? How can I find out more about this "partnering?"

I see nothing wrong with a DFG biologist getting a free seat at a conservation dinner if they are part of the ceremony such as giving a speech or a presentation. If they are there at the request or invite of the conservation organization, then I am fine with that courtesy being extended to them. Do you think Jim Zumbo pays for the RMEF events he is invited to? Should he?

If these guys were Senators or Congressmen they'd have to report these dinners as gifts. I was asked to invite these Fish and Game biw whigs but I couldn't and feel good about myself. I could share stories of the ethics of some of these organizations.
You should here how some in group "A" are eager to share the mismanagement of money occuring with group "B". An auctioner we had at our banquet even shared that he won't do events for a specific water fowl group (not DU) because of the way they pee money away. BTW the NWTF has an outstanding reputation for making the most of it's members money.

I don't like the idea of any official with a say in policy recieving money or gifts without disclouser to the public.
