Anyone hear if the forest service is planning to close the forests again this year? Heard they’re thinking about doing it again.

Haven't gotten an email from them about it yet, but would not be surprised

only time will tell, with forest fires already burning out of control and more sure to come, you know areas will be shut down if not already.

true. I was more getting at shutting all the forests down like they did last year even with no fires during in all of them. Seems like the sate is getting after most of these fires right when they start. The large fire during by Yosemite is a big one that seems like it will burn much more.

Depending on the rains or lack thereof. Could be a game time decision.

It all depends on a Forest Fire 🔥 in your Hunting Zone. Read the new Regulations pertaining to fire closures affecting Hunting Zones, tag exchanges and refunds. Keep in mind when a National Forest is closed, BLM and Private Property Hunting is allowed. You can even make a Campfire 🔥 on Private Property when a 🔥National Forest is Closed!!!

They closed the forest last year & blm lands the day of opening day for our archery X zone last year. I had our points reinstated and that’s why we drew it again this year. There wasn’t a fire anywhere near our zone last year, they shut it all down because of lack of resources.

It’s 90 degrees in the mountains, last thing I want is a camp fire.

hwy 38 mudslide at Stetson creek. Just below the turn off to Jenks lake rd.

Its still closed and the culvert is compromised. Im hearing from Caltrans it may take 2 months to reset that culvert and compact it again.

The lower checkpoint is just past Angelus Oaks. You can go around the CP by taking Middle Control rd there by the CP down to 7 oaks and then glass rd back up to hwy 38. I wouldnt go down MCR if it's raining and be careful, its a narrow azz rd with a lot of traffic now. On Google maps they call Middle Control Rd "Mill Creek Rd. The sign off hyw 38 says Middle control rd.

Thats what us locals call it, MCR.

Just an FYI. I'll keep checking to see if any updates.

Video from Stetson Creek

Did you draw ✍️ A5 this year? I try to draw X3A every year! I hunted X3A last year 🏷 💥🦌. I drew the Zone 5 Big Valley Antelope Tag 🏷 also when the National Forest was closed 🔥 but I hunted on Private Property and could only access the BLM through the Private Property.
