Got to Wister Wed at about midnight-5 cars in the parking lot. Sweatline board said a whole 12 people were signed up.
Picking of sites started at 300 and was over by 320 including sweaters.
Max at the trailer said it has been bad because there isnt enough people to get the ducks moving (but the ducks are down also) (witnessed that later)
1 mallard 2 pintail (2 people) plenty of pintail but what can you do?
We left at noon and say only 1 car in any of the parking lots we passed on the way back from T12 to the station.

The new manager at Wister was quoted as saying there were only 2000 ducks using the refuge.  We need some new birds to move into the area!

Do you know if Max has a phone in that trailer of his?

Lots of Pintail in the valley.  all you can do is make sure that you shoot a drake!

1.5 million birds at Klammath and a storm hitting the valley on Monday. You guys are bound to see some new arrivals next week.

Bring them on down!!

For Wister area, we typically see a lot of birds come from the Colorado direction, so we need to see some storms roll through that part of the country as well.

Shoot straight and shoot often!

Caz is right,

The birds we want come from Colorado, Idaho and Montana, at least thats where all the banded geese we've shot from Wister have come from!
