Me and Dad were driving up towards Pine Flat Dam on Elwood Road off of hwy 180(Tulare County I believe). About 4-5 miles in we came upon a house right beside the road. 5-10 yards away from the Road were about 15-25 pigs fenced up enjoying themselves in the mud pit and there were about 10 football sized piggies (small enough to get out of the fence) that were roaming the side of the road. Was Really cool to see them up close as its not often that I see hogs this close since I hunt public land. We know some friends who would pay per pound for some fresh hog meat and thought wed turn around and knock on the door. However passing by the house there was a sign that said something close to (if i remember correctly) "Cameras, Booby Traps, Die on Film" in front of the house and figured wed better not. On our way back home heading down towards squaw valley on elwood about 1 mile past the house with pigs we saw a white pick up truck with a HUGE swastika sticker on the side of the truck :skeered:. I dont know if it belonged to the same house but we were glad we didnt stop to ask about the pigs. Not trying to stir things up here, was really nice to see the hogs up close. Has anyone else seen them? Oh and sorry no pictures, figured it was better not to stop.

LMAO....:rotflmao: That's good old Bill Gaiety. I'm glad you didn't stop either. He isn't the nicest man to strangers. You might have gotten a gun pulled on you for having a camera out around that house.

He is a horse shoe-er and cattle rancher. The swastika is his cattle brand and yes it is registered with the state like that. He is a bit on the wild side to say the least. Best advise I can give you is if you don't know someone up in that Wounder Valley area than just stay out. Bill thinks he is THE law up there.

i have a cattle ranch that is neighbors to Bill Gaiety's leased land. I heard fish and game told him he had to remove those pigs but i guess he didn't. yeah he sells them to the asians for food. you can probably stop and i am sure he will sell them to you.

Bill is quite the "character". I wouldn't stop at his house, but he is often times hanging out at Doyals store. You could probably ask him there if he would sell you a pig. You will know who he is when you see him. :pull-shades:

This guy has a cattle brand of a swastika and a kid named Wolfgang! I suppose your gonna tell me next that he has bumper sticker that reads " David Allen Coe for President". I'm not sure if I should bust up laughing or be embarrassed for him. Anyhow, this guy sounds like a real hout! :rotflmao:

He probably is embarrassed for folks from SoCal & the Bay Area; or he is laughing at them. Doubt he questions his mind.

true, bill sells those pigs to the valley's asian communities in the open and DFG haven't done anything about it. they are not your normal barn pigs but have been tamed.

Interesting, I didn't know that. Not that I would go and bother him though. I would rather get one the old fashioned way.

Obviously not the same pigs or guy but I had buddies in the Paso area that would catch wild piglets and raise them in pens. One black boar got to 300+ pounds in 2 1/2 years eating nothing but table scraps. The thing would follow you around and let you scratch it's ears...
