Wyoming Elk hunt on private property

I got invited to gun hunt elk on private property near Tensleep, WY. I have applied for a bull elk tag. This is zone/area/unit 49. I heard that this is primarily private land. Does this increase my odds at being drawn? Also, does anyone know anything about the elk numbers in this area? If drawn this will be my first elk hunt. Thanks.

Try the above link and it should get you to the draw odds site for WY..........I'd check that for your odds and there's other links on the DF&G site to give you stats for your unit.........Good luck!

Here's the direct link to the draw odds for NR Elk. Your looking at a 13.49% draw for a Bull, and 100% for a cow.

I would think the person that owns the property would have more insight on the Elk population than any of us here. Draw odds for that zone are slim. Thus I would assume it to be a decent area.

Plus I was just thinking and I believe they have landowner tags in WYO...........
