Just wondering if any of you have hunted the great state of wyoming? I am planning a self guided trip there this fall and any input would be greatly appreciated. I am putting in for a Region D tag(Rawlings area and south). Just looking for general input on terrain type deer populations and access. I am talking with a rep. from the wildlife dept. there and have a couple ideas but more insight would be helpful.
I have hopes for a respectable mule deer. I am not so into trophy hunting as I am into the whole hunting experience. Not that a monster would bum me out.........lol. I prefer to hunt alone and do not employ an ATV. My prefered hunting method depends on terrain but usually is spot and stock. If anybody has any ideas about hunting areas, meat lockers, camping areas, stores, good bars ect....... please let me know. If possible give me the good and the bad about wyoming.
