Checkout hamiltoe's website. He has the info on this sensor and how to modify it. Dont know why more people dont use it.
The range is listed as 20ft , but with hamiltoe's mods I'm getting a little over 30ft with mine. This is right in line with the flash range of the OWL PF (33ft)
They run them on sale every so often and you can get two for the price of one.
Heres the links......

Don't you have to buy timers and such for this one?

I can handle soldering and changing relays, but I don't understand timer shematics, etc.

Since we are talking about hamiltoe's inventions, how hard is it to add the connection leads on the bottom of his new $10 board. I know that I could order the parts and solder them on, but I am unsure of the bottom part.

BULL , I'm using joeD's timer along with the comparator part of hamiltoe's board ( not the new one)
I can assemble this timer in about 40 minutes, super simple, as I am electronically challenged also.
I had a picture of a finished timer back on page 11, under the heading "Perplexing Problem Part 2"
If the picture is still there. Couldnt get it to come up on mine.

Bull Moose,
If you are unsure of how to connect anything to my new board, let me know.  I can take some pictures of my finished ones to help you out.
