I haven't seen or heard any reports yet, but I just got back from Monache Meadows this afternoon. Last night I held on to the front tire of my Explorer through 40 mph winds that had blown all day in increasing velocity. Gave up early and headed home down Nine Mile Canyon and then up 395, heading for Stockton. Ended up going all the way up to 88 and coming down through Jackson. Snow had all the passes closed. Miserable.
I saw one skinny little yearling doe mulie in somebody's pasture just as I headed up the western side of the mountains, and not another sign. I did see half a dozen guys riding up and down paved roads in the forest on dirt bikes and quads, with camo suits, no helmets, and their rifles cross-slung on their backs. Not sure what they were doing, but they were sure going slow.
