Being it's only a week to the opener, I thought I would see what you all shoot doves with. I kinda trade off between a 870 pump with a 34 inch barrel with improved cylinder. and a semi auto 12 ga. 28 inch barrel with mod. chk. and I use 7 1/2 & 8 shot. Thats my story and I'm stickin to it. (LOL)

I usually use my trusty rusty Model 600 Ithaca 20 ga Full/Mod and 7 1/2 shot. (it helps to hit them before they get too close)

Beretta AL390 12ga 28in with Mod choke 1oz or 1 1/8oz 8's.
However, after the opener (I want to shoot the familiar gun first) I will switch to a new (to me) SKB model 200 20ga with Mod/full (fixed chokes).

I use my Browning Gold in 20 gauge with the cheapest WalMart shells I can find. Just got a case for $29.99! Mostly I've used improved cylinder but this year I'm going to try a skeet tube. Will have my 43 year old Remington 870 Wingmaster passed down from my dad to me, as backup. Only three more days. Good luck to everyone.

My favorite is my Beretta 686 Onyx 20 ga. But I'll also pull out the .410 for fun.

Either a 28ga Ruger Red Label with 26" barrels or a Remington 1100 20ga Special Field with the straight grip English stock and 23" barrel.

Here's the 1100 and a handful of quail...

Ruger Red Label 20 ga.

if for some reason (would have to be the guns fault) I can't hit squat with it, I will pop out the 1100 20 ga.

I’ll be shooting my Winchester Super X2 field grade 12 GA with a 26” barrel and mod. choke with 7 ½ shot from last years Walmarts ADV stuff I have left over. I’ll also have my Winchester 1400 20GA as back up.

I used to use a S&W 12 ga pump w/ a fixed modified barrel. This year I'll be using my a Verona Semi-Auto 28" w/ Improved Cylinder. I've always used Federal 7 1/2
2 3/4" shells.

Good luck to all this season!

My ugly old Mossberg/New Haven 500AT 12g pump.

It's just more fun and it has that cool little muzzle mounted adjustable choke. Don't have to fiddle with parts and barrels.

cheers, t

Currently I use my Benelli Super Black Eagle for all bird hunting. Thinking about getting a Beretta Silver Pigeon in 20 ga. for future hunts.

Picked up the on sale Beretta A390 from Turner's on Wednesday. Shot it today for the 1st time and I love it. Looks like the Mossberg Maverick 88 ("economically minded" 500) will stay in the truck. Got 20 out of 25 at Prado today which is damn good for myself.

Oh yea I need to make it a morning hunt so I called up ??? at Four Winds today and booked a field. Anybody else going to be there?? He wasn't sure if he would have room in the chukar/pheasant fields, so a dove only hunt is $30 compared to $65 for the dove/chukar/pheasant.

HiiidyHoHunters,
That Beretta 390 is a sweet gun, but it is my second favorite. My #1 pic is my Browning Citori 12 GA. with 26" barrels and invector chokes. That is the one I pick out of my safe more times than any other shotgun.
