Youth Dove Clinic and Hunt
If any of you happen to live on the east side of the state and would like to get the youngsters on a dove hunt this might be right up your alley. We are not looking for any donations nor do we need any help with the event we just need to get about 30 kids signed up for the clinic and hunt. There is absolutely no costs involved with this and MDC will even provide youth model loaner shotguns in 12 and 20 guage if the kids don't have one. In the past they have also provided most if not all of the ammunition and all of the clay birds so it is a real good deal.
The Missouri Department of Conservation and the Lincoln County Hunter Education Instructors are sponsoring a
FREE Youth Dove Clinic & Hunt on August 25th and September 1st 2007 at the Logan Conservation Area in Lincoln County
The clinic on August 25th from 8:30 A.M. to 12:00 Noon will consist of information on Dove Management Practices / Regulations/Dove Hunting Strategies / Safety and you will get to practice wing shooting at clay birds
The guided hunt is for clinic participants only and will take place September 1st from 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. The hunt will be held at one of the MDC Managed Dove Areas on the Whiteside Wildlife Area in Lincoln County.
The Clinic & Hunt are for Youth aged 11-15 and limited to 30 participants who are Hunter Education Certified

Please do not call until July 15th and be sure to specify that you want the Lincoln County Dove Clinic and Hunt.
Parents are more than welcome to attend the clinic and the hunt but they won't be allowed to actually hunt. That is reserved for the kids. Each group (which is usually two hunters to a blind) will be accompanied by either a Hunter Education Instructor or an MDC Staff Member who will make sure that everyone stays safe and enjoys the hunt to the fullest.
