I just talked to my cousin in Yuma and he said the doves are flying great already, I hope it just gets better.

Is Yuma a good place to shoot dove, or what? I haven't been there in about 5 years but it was awsome.

Sorry! Yes! Yuma is really bad, not a dove in sight. To bad I have to go for three days again this year. Its a pain, but Ill do it for my cousin to help him with the imaginary doves he keeps seeing. Ill make sure to take 300 imaginary shotgun shells and my cooler to keep all those imaginary doves will not be getting cool for my imaginary BBQ! I cant sell them now! Umm!

Yuma Food

The best place is the dove bbq we all have on the grills in back of the hotel after the opener. Other than that, there's a bunch of places in the new shopping center off 16th street just north of the freeway. We usually hit Buffalo Wild Wings in there one of the nights. There is also a Mexican food place called Cretines (sp?) and its on 16th a little south of the freeway.
Happy Hunting

Anybody ever hunt yuma after the first few days of opener? I have been there for the past 8 years on the 1st thru the 3rd, but this year I am not going out until the 5th and staying till the 7th (due to that thing some call a "job"?).

We have had good luck the last few years hunting some orange groves but I was wondering if it would be better to be out in the desert or against the mesa since we are going out after all the birds have already been shot at. Any insight is appretiated. Thanks and good hunting!!

Hunted Yuma Sat, Sun and Mon. 6 of us hunting and we all had our limits and were eating the breakfast buffet at the cocopah by 9 am each day. Had a great time and can't believe how great the shooting was for the 5th, 6th, and 7th. Unbelievable!!

Will post some pics later.
