Javalina also known as the Sabertoothed Skunk.[/b]

That's hilarious!

I remember smelling them at the old Santa Ana Zoo. When you got a whiff, you realized you weren't necessarily that close!

Carl - Is the lead ban along the entire central coast? How extensive is it? Has the condors range expanded?

Even thou it’s not a pistol caliber and the ammo is pretty hard to find, the 32 Win Special is a great lever gun. My father has one and someone is always borrowing it for a pig hunt.

Out of curiosity, why a lever gun? Javelina, more so than hogs [other than CA hogs] in my experience, are taken at long range and a lever gun limits your options. Why not a bolt action in a mid-range caliber?[/b]

Has your experience with CA hogs been with close range shots?

Also if you do hunt in CA then 44mag or 30-30 due to the available Barnes TSX bullets in factory ammo or go with the Browning BLR.
