Met up with bigboarstopper for some hog hunting this weekend and brought home this keeper. We were walking a road looking at some tracks when we caught movement of this pig on a hill to our left. She stopped up on the hill so I was able to take a quick shot that hit her behind the left eye and dropped her dead in her tracks. We estimated this sow was in the 200+ pound ballpark so I was stoked. Not to bad I guess for my first pig and she had a good amount of fat on her so she will be good eating. Cooked some tenderloin last night and it was excellent so now I just need to get the rest of the meat back from the butcher and smoke the hams then I'll be in good shape. Anyways, I would highly recommend Shay (bigboarstopper). I don't recall seeing him on here but I had a great trip and others I have talked to have always said good about him so give him a call if you are looking to do some hunting (831)594-1270.

I have family in Idaho and when I was up there in September I had a guy tell me they had some pigs somewhere south I think he said. I was In Cascade which is 2 hours north from Boise so south is a little vague but I'll do some searching because that would be pretty cool to hunt them in Idaho someday since I go there almost every year.

congrats on that nice hog. What is the details of the hunt. How many days? Where was the ranch? How big is the ranch? How much are the fees? Thank you for the info and congrats again.

It's a weekend hunt outside King City so a good place for pig. Not sure exactly the size of the ranch but if you're looking for more information just give him a call. Thanks for the congrats guys. Was nice to put up a pic since I've been living vicariously through other hunter's pig hunting success.

Cascade is a couple hours North of me. I was up there hunting on Thursday. Dad shot a deer up there a few weeks ago when deer season opened up. I heard the pigs were in mtn home but at the local free shooting range i found some skin thats been out there dryiing on a rock. Maybe they follow the river.

Thanks guys. The pigs in Idaho seem to be largely on private land but the state apparently is hush hush on them since they feel they will be harder to manage if there is pressure put on them and they may move. If you find out any more I'd be interested in hearing it.

So how much is it for a hunt with Shay? Guided or on your own? How far of a shot was that?
