I posted this in the Whitetail section too..

I've been seeing a nice ten point but he's always been comming out to the fields after it was too dark to get any pics of him. Last night he came out a little earlier. Sorry the pics are a little grainy - these are 100% crops and the light was getting dark. Taken with a Nikon D-80 and Nikon 70-200 VR lens.
Theres a bigger one running around but I haven't had any luck getting any trail cam or Nikon pics of him - hopefully soon.

Anyone care to guess a score?

I'd say 140'ish maybe smaller..

dave, I'm looking at the d40 which has a two lense package with a 18-55 and a 55-200 lense for $729.00. Have you or anyone else used this slr? What kind of feed back can anyone give me on the nikon d40. I need something that is fairly easy to use.

The D40 is an excellent camera! It is probably the best buy in a digital SLR for non-pro use. My suggestion would be to get the 18-200 VR lens if you can afford it. Check out this guy's website: www.kenrockwell.com do a search for the d40. Rockwell is a well-known professional photographer who knows his stuff. He uses both NIkon and Canon equipment (so he doesn't just push one brand) and he probably uses his d40 more than any of his other SLR's.
You won't be disappointed.

Nice looking deer. 3.5 year old? Looks like he could really blososm in the next couple of years. I'd venture to say he's in the lower 130's.
