100 is too small, 109 is perfect...
just kidding, 100 is the most common since it correlates with your field tip and it is perfect weight.
The more important is their construction.

You can get field tips in different weights. Head weight effects FOC which in turn has a lot to do with how an arrow travels through the air. 100 grain is a descent starting point but there are a lot of guys shooting more. Make sure you shoot the same weight field points and broadheads. That and a properly tuned bow and you will be at a good starting point.

I think 99.9 is the perfect grain weight...lol

But u will be fine with a 100 gr. That is the most common grain weight archers shoot with. U just want a great broadhead that will do damage on a hog so it bleeds out good and leaves a good trail if it jets in the brush. Solid heads like a G5 Montec will penitrate the shoulder armor pretty good if a shot happens to hit that area. Mechanicals like Grim Reapers or Rage heads will punch a good whole for maximum bleed out if u hit the sweet spot. If a Hog has a thick coat of hair and u don't get good enough or big enough penatration the hair will absorb the blood like a sponge and the quagulate and then as it runs of it won't leave a good blood trail to track. But with a great shot to the hart zone it should go down quick, I hope this helps my friend.....tra

100 gr. does not "correlate" with your field tips, unless your field tips are 100 gr. Field tips come in all the same sizes as broad heads.

Re-read Beastmode's post, he is correct.

I shoot 125 gr. broadheads (and practice with 125 gr. field tips), they work best for my bow setup. Most important, make sure your bow is tuned properly and any grain BH will kill anything if it goes in the right spot. Good luck and enjoy.
