Bass tourney is a benefit

The 14th annual Fall Classic Team Bass Tournament is set for Saturday and Sunday at Bridge Bay Resort on Lake Shasta. Proceeds from the tournament go to Special Olympics.
"All the coaches and athletes of Special Olympics of Shasta County congratulate the Shasta Cascade Bass Anglers for their outstanding support over the past 14 years," said Marcy Caldwell, spokesperson for Special Olympics. "There are approximately 250 to 300 Special Olympic athletes able to participate in 12 different seasonal sports because of the help of community organizations like the bass anglers."
Signup and check-in time for the bass tournament is from 4 a.m. to 6 a.m. Saturday at Phil's Propeller, 3037 Twin View Blvd. Entry fees may be paid in advance at Phil's. The registration fee is $140 per team and includes a $10 big fish side pot, at 100 percent payback. First place is $3,000 (with 100 teams entered) and $4,000 (with 150 teams entered).
