My 30-06 shoots the 150 grain Hornady SSTs (not the Interbond version) very accurately just at 3,000 fps. I am a little concerned that this bullet my be a bit fragile if I run into a good sized pid at close range. Does anyone have experience with this bullet on pigs? Do you think they will hold together enough to get the job done?

Thanks!

I'm using 150 and 165 gr SST's in my 06. I've read real good reviews with them. That's why I'm using them. Hopefully will get a shot one of these days.

Guys I think you need to know all these plastic tip bullets where designed for longer range shooting, even thought Hornady says this bullet is fine at all ranges and Nosler said the same with there's but also redesigned the bullet, IMO you could do alot better just using standard Rem. core-loks, Speer GS, Nosler Partitions, or H-Interlocks, all 4 would give you good penertation at any range.

Ditto to huntducks. If you like Hornady (I sure do) just use their regular Interloct bullet. Save the SST's for deer. To fragile for a tough boar's armor and shoulder bones.

Just my
<
but,
I say placement is everything. My buddy has taken more Hogs with his
25-06 than his 30-06.
