These first 2 pics are a black hog I took about a month and a half ago. It was the first hog with my STW. I wanted to test it out. The entrance hole was just a little slit about 3 inches below his ear. The exit was much bigger.

Entrance hole.

These next 2 are of an almost all white hog that I killed last week. I wanted to cull him. Don't need any white ones running around.

Bigtusker,

Pardon the ignorance, but what is a STW?

manfreddy,

It stands for Shooting Times Westerner (it's a hot shootin' 7mm).

The STW I was referring to is my 7 millimeter STW. A 7MM STW is basically a 8MM Remington necked down to 7MM. STW stands for Shooting Times Westerner. It is a long range, flat shooting machine. Both of the hogs in the pictures were head shots. I'ts pretty messy when you body shoot one.

IMHO, genetically they have more domestic than wild in them. When I advertise that I do guided hunts for wild hogs, I don't want to take my clients out and show them white hogs. I am trying to maintain the russian strain as best as I can.

Hey BT,

Next time you wanna do some culls, you know who to contact! I'd be tickled to take a "fancy" hog with a good mix of black and white. I really like the looks of the "white" hog you have there.

Most of the ones I've seen with any amount of color have been little piglets. Seems like they lose some color when they grow up.

Nice meat hogs......Those white ones look so cool, stick out like a sore thumb in a group of hogs, too. Took one small white one last year (under 100 lbs.), and it reminded me of a pinto pony, with tan and black spots. I think they're cool, and they're 99% Russian as far as I'm concerned, their color gene is just confused.......
