HOGS. THE OWNER TRAPPED 2X 500 POUNDERS & THEIR PASTOR SHOT A 400
POUNDER. MY BUDDY SHOT A 300 & 350 POUNDER. I HARVESTED A 200 & 250
POUNDER. SHOTS TAKEN AT NIGHT UNDER A FULL MOON, UP ON A TREEHOUSE
WITH LOTS OF CORNBAIT. 3 SACKS OF CORNBAIT WILL DISAPPEAR IN 1 NIGHT. PIGS COME IN 1'S OR SOMETIMES A BIG HERD OF UP
TO 15. LOTS OF GRUNTING, SNORTING & SHOVING AS THEY FEED FRENZY THE BAIT. WE USE MARLIN 45-70, 338. BAR, 300 WIN. MAG. TIKKA, 12 GAUGE WITH
SLUGS, RED DOT SIGHTS, ILLUMINATED RIFLESCOPES, LASER SIGHTS & SPOTLIGHTS. IT IS AN EXPERIENCE TO HEAR & SEE 15 BIG HOGS RUSTLING SINGLE FILE THRU THE HAYFIELD 30 YDS. BELOW OUR TREEHOUSE, RUMBLE PAST & THEN MAKE A "U" TURN FOR THE BAIT, CHECKING & MAKING SURE THEY
SNIFF THE AIR FOR PREDATORS. WE ARE UP ON THE TREEHOUSE FROM 9PM TO7AM, AS THEIR ARRIVALS ARE UNPREDICTABLE. MOSQUITOES NET CLOTHES , ABSOLUTE SILENCE & TOUGH CONSTRUCTION HOG AMMO ARE A MUST! WISH WE HAD SUCH ABUNDANCE OF WILD PIGS IN CALIF. PIGS ARE A NON-GAME ANIMAL IN TEXAS & WITH A HUNTING LICENSE CAN BE TAKEN BY
ANY METHOD, EXCEPT POISON. I WOULD SERIOUSLY RECOMMEND HOOKING UP W/ A TEXAS FRIEND(W/ A RANCH OF COURSE) & EXPERIENCE NUISANCE CONTROL WHILE HAVING FUN & GOOD EATING AFTERWARDS. LARRYSOGLA.

Know exactly what you are talking about. Have a buddy in Texas with private property that we harvest many pigs and deer off of every year. Took took my first with a bow this year took the second one this year with a rifle and a scope mounted spot light (legal in Texas) a few months back out of a heard of 10.

BTW check the TPW new regs out. You no longer need any type of license to hunt pigs on private property.

Below is a portion of an e-mail my buddy in Texas with the property sent me.

"Interesting note regarding Michael's last note... Texas is definitely unique in that it recognizes the destructive nature of these animals...check this NEW law from under the licensing section of the Texas Parks and Wildlife.

No license is required for nuisance fur-bearing animals.

NEW LAW: A landowner (resident or non-resident) or the landowner's agent or lessee may take feral hogs causing depredation on the landowner's land without having acquired a hunting license, but all laws and regulations governing hunter education still apply.
