The black sow was taken not far from lake Sonoma, and the gray boar was taken near Paso Robles. Both on private leased land unguided. Man was it hot when I took the boar last Friday, it was getting in to the low 100's during the day and made hunting pretty tough.

rwchunter, Nice photos! What time of day did you take the Paso hog? Recently we have been averaging 106 degrees for our high temp the last four days....Again, thanks for the pics.

I got that hog just after it got light about 5:30 am. It was coming from the barley fields to water and cover. They didn't seam to be moving much after about 7:00 am. We did push some out of some areas with water in the middle of the day but it was pretty hot to be walking around much without seeing anything.
We did see hogs every day but one morning on a 3 day hunt, and the guys I was with got some shooting 2 other times but were not able to connect.

Good luck on your hog hunts, I think I am done with the hogs for a while so I can start scouting for my x3b deer hunt this fall.

sounds like a good spot you hunted down near Paso. Its always nice to get a hog, I really like to hunt pigs. You have a X3b tag I hunted there twice about 7 years ago I can tell you some good spots to start scouting, if you want. Good luck the rest of the year.

When the barley is almost ready to harvest and the weather is not to hot it can be a great place to take a pig.

I would love to hear about your x3b hunts, and any info you can give me about the unit would be great. I will send you a pm with the areas I am looking at scouting. If you have any info on these areas or some that I am not awear of I would love to hear it. Thanks
