I had the chance myself to shoot this bow at Cabelas the other day. It is a very nice bow, the wall on this bow seems solid. I chose the Buckskin over the Grizzly because I didnt feel the Grizzly was much of an upgrade for me from my Reflex Whitetail Hunter that I have had for the past 7 years. The cams on the Grizzly would have been about the only upgrade for me, other than it having split limbs where my whitetail hunter did not. The Grizzly has a magnesium riser somewhat like my whitetail hunter and weighs about the same. For the money I would think that this bow would be a great bow for someone just starting out though.
It's just a cheap Hoyt. I have a 1999 Bighorn, shoots quite nice and fast. Was an original 307fps rated bow, and I am lugging 410gr arrow and tip combo's out at 261fps. I shot a couple of arrows the other day trying to prove a point, my first group was a little loose, but the second group was real tight. See "Adjusting for Range" page 3. The second group downhill, was about an 1.5" group. I am quite pleased with mine, even for a bow that is near 5 yrs. old, I got it in Aug. 2000, it is still fast and consistent. I updated it with a new Zebra String last fall, and that seemed to have tightened it a bit. Either way, the Reflex Bows are proving a great choice for shooters and hunters alike. Keep shooting!!!
