OK guys... here it is for 2006!
<

We have been written into the Tejon calendar for May 12-14 weekend. We'll once again be hunting the south side.

Cost again this year is $400, on the contingency that we have at least 25 hunters. If, by some odd chance we don't get 25 hunters, the rate will be raised (to an, as yet unspecified amount). I don't see any reason that we won't get enough hunters signed up, so this is a minimal concern.

Again, I will be capping the group size at 50 hunters. This is a large number, but those of you who have been there know that the area can easily handle this many hunters plus a few.

As soon as the paperwork arrives, I will be sending out application packets to interested individuals. As usual, spaces will be held ONLY on receipt of your payment in full. There is no "hold" list.

More info is forthcoming as soon as I get the paperwork from Barbara!

Oh, I forgot to say it this time, but it's the same as the last two events...

If you want to receive a packet, please email me the following information:

First and Last Name
Screen name (if applicable)
Mailing address
Phone #
Cell Phone #
Names of all hunters in your party (if you are hunting as a group)

If you have multiple hunters, I will send one packet. You can then make copies for the other party members to complete. Every hunter MUST have completed the forms in the packet.

Also, if you are hunting as a group, please designate one person to coordinate the forms for all members of the party. Send them to me all together, once everyone has completed them.

Thanks!

Yeah, FT... this happened once before too. But think about it... you've got almost 7 months to make it up to her! Or, you can tag out on Friday night or Saturday, and still be home in time to pick up a dozen roses on the way and clean up to take her out to dinner too!
<

Semi-seriously, though... it's the best time we could get. The other dates were mid-March, which means rain and Tejon mud and not a time I care to be up there again, or not until end of May/June which means we'll be pushing up against summer heat. We got lucky this year with the late, cool weather, but June isn't always like that.

Would love to have you and as many others as we can get come aboard, but I sure understand if you gotta take care of momma that weekend instead.

I'm in, there's so many hogs there a full moon shouldn't cause too many problems...I'm already checking the maps for a new area to torture myself in.

As for Mother's day, I'll just have to take this time to figure something out to make it better.

Russ, I was just thinking the same thing.

Barbara did say they've simply got hogs coming out of the woodwork this year, probably due to all the rains and late spring. Acorns are plentiful, and it looks like we'll have more wet weather this winter too... should be an awesome season, full moon or no!

The 2002 POR where you helped me, my brother, and Scott drag our hogs was on Mother's Day (not an official JHO hunt, but there were about 30 of us in the South Side for that hunt).

The first annual JHO Ham Slam was in Mayof 2004, and the second was June of 2005.

D'oh!
