Cows can live to be over 20 but most do not, while it would be rare to have a 15 year old bull. It is just harder to be a bull and go through the rut every year. There are always exceptions but every year we receive age data back showing 15, 16, 17 year old cows. Collars have been recovered that were put on 20 years ago in some cases. Most bulls harvested are well under 10 (obviously depends on the area for average age).

Thanks Joe. that might help explain why that cow I got had those really long weird hoves... remember? She was the 6th. oldest taken last year at 11 years old, so they had quite a while to grow! Thanks for the info.!
