Unit 6a (Jemez Mountains). Great place to hunt.....the whole unit!!

Well for folks coming from out of state it carries a price tag, So I figure why not help where I can. The unit is big and 120 tags available for this hunt make it great for everyone because the likely hood of seeing another hunter is null. 12% of the tags are for out of state hunters, it's tough to get a tag for this unit. I've been trying for 8 years for a Oct rifle tag, this is my first.

Shsssssssssssssshh... that is one of those great places in NM that may not be THE biggest, or the most, but there are some great elk in there. I scouted it before and after my 44/45 hunt. Congrates on a great bull, I hope to fill a tag there in future.

Since I've finally signed on and gotten some good info from the archives on southwest elk units, I figured the least I could do is post up some pictures of last year's elk. Plus it was a career year for me. Not that scores matter but my brother's bull was 330 and mine was 280.
