2011 JHO Tejon PRO hog hunt 5/22/11

Id like to go,pretty serious about going. This would be my 1st time hunting there. Is there any maps of the area to be hunted? Will they let you scout the area prior to hunting, cause I wouldn't know where to start.

I'm going up to Bakersfield on Sunday, plus hunting in the area, so I will stop by the Ft. Tejon entrance of the Tejon Ranch, and pick up a map, if the hours work out right. Guess I'll have mine laminated, unless it's already in some sort of waterproof format. I'll let you know if it's worth the $10.rayin :

There is no pre scouting the area before the hunt. You can pick up a map of the area during the orientation friday morning for 5.00

Are people with the Spring Membership allowed to be on the ranch this weekend as well?

Yes I believe they can. The last 2 years there have been members camping in the same place as our group. But I don't work for Tejon so I would contact them to make sure how your passes work just to be safe.

Not Committing, but thinkin about doing the hunt this year. I joined the 2004 JHO Ham Slam and it was a blast. I think we went 22 for 28 hunters that year. I was lucky enough to tag out on Friday afternoon and enjoy the rest of the weekend. Anybody who is thinkin of doing this hunt, it's a blast. Everyone is willing to help out eachother. Sitting around the campfire at night is well worth the trip alone. Tejon is simply awesome!

I will be creating a new post for this hunt once I get the Apps from Maddi at Tejon. I will post up exactly what I will need from everybody in order to send out the apps. Also unless things have changed in regarding to what time we have to leave the ranch on Sunday, it has been by 4pm the last few years. I will double check on this to make sure.
