It wont work! every time i shoot one off the road i end up pulling it out of a deep canyon..

One of my "few" easy recoverys was on Tejon during the 2004 JHO Ham Slam. 80 yard shot off the side of the road, drive up to it and tossed it in the truck Friday Evening. I got lucky!!!! lol

I got the apps in the other day. I will be posting up the thread for you guys to email me with all the information I will need. at that point I will email you a copy of the app to sign and mail back to me along with your check, tag and a copy of your car insurance. The apps say 550 but I am going to call Maddi to get all the current information for the hunt. I want to make sure they are still offering a 100 discount if we get 25 or more hunters booked for the trip. Can't wait.

Last year was a tough year. I believe 6 or 8 out of the 22 got one. Everybody saw hogs though.

At what distance are most of the successful guys shooting? I'm considering a muzzleloader for this hunt...after 100-120 yards I think I'm hesitant to shoot game outside of this range.

dwikkles, welcome. Send jb229 your contact info if you want to attend this hunt. Details are on the beginning of this thread (post #10). Linky here http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums...on-PRO-hog-hunt-5-22-11?p=2258352#post2258352

Bruce, the last 3 guys I put on hogs up there had shots under 100 yards. 2 missed and Russ nailed his shot. Bring the smokepole.

Sorry guys, been busy with work and other things. I will be posting up the new thread tomorrow with the details I will need from everybody.

And Bruce bring up your muzzle loader, I've shot hogs at 200 to 15yds. Just depends what part of the ranch you are hunting.

Bruce I brought my TC Omega last year and had a shot so close suddenly that I wasn't prepared and shot well over him. It was comical, Dave shot at one from under 50 yds. when he did it busted four out and they all started running I saw hair in my scope that was adjusted too close and took a shot. The one I had shot at ran about 12 steps up the hill when he keeled over backwords and started rolling down the hill right to me. I yell "got him" Dave starts looking for his hog and can't find a blood trail farther than 25 yds because the first one spurted blood everywhere. We finally figured out from the 30.06 entry wound that Dave had actually hit it and I missed but since it fell right after I took my shot it looked like I tagged it... Regardless we had a really great time it is a friggin blast! And Jesse is spot on about Tejon. It is one of the most beautiful hidden valley's in So. Cal. Like Ca. looked a hundred years ago.

Most of the hunters on this hunt use a firearm.

Can you tell a noob what the PRO in Tejon PRO hog hunt means? Is this only for experienced hunters who are new to pigs or total newbs?
