My dad went out last Friday night to try to find MyFriendis410's radio and ran into this group of piglets. He had is video camera so he was able to get some great footage. Only about a minute long, but pretty cool to see.

Yes he did! Right where he laid it down. I posted on: Big Vandyland Boar Down.

Speaking of radios: we are going to try those new digital radios with texting capability next week. Steve's picking up a set at Bass Pro this weekend.

I have buddies in the Paso area that catch piglets by hand when the sow is distracted and raised a few in pens on their properties. It was amazing how fast they would grow and how domesticated they would become.

This 300lber would follow you around the yard and let you scratch his ears...

Thanks for bringing that to my attention as I was not aware. To be honest, I think the evidence was eaten a long time ago...

Thank you Kalifornia! What a jacked up state. Makes no sense why you cfouldn't raise a wild pig for slaughter feeding it table scraps of veggies and fruit and other good stuff. Maybe it would make it to easy not to rely on others for food and having too much control over our own lives. I wish I could move. It's depressing living in a place the puts so many boundaries on our freedom.

Hogs are classified as big game animals in CA. If you could capture a wild hog and raise it then you could capture an elk and raise it too. They have to draw the line somewhere.

That's my point! They shouldn't be classified as a big game animal with all the destruction they do to property. The greed for revenue is what put them higher up on the list. They are nuisance animals but a good source of food as well. Look at the south or talk to folks down there. They all think we're crazy paying $500 to shoot a hog when they would gladly let you on there property to shoot the hogs to hell.

If you could capture a wild hog and raise it then you could capture an elk and raise it too.

Honestly, as long as there wasn't any breeding going on I don't think I'd have a problem with that. If you have the chance and ability to catch a lone youngin in the woods and raise it up for slaughter to feed your family. Why not? Let me say that I'd never and have never done it for the mere reason I'd lose my career if I broke any law. I just think that we are more and more becoming more rule based and governed. We have stepped farther and farther away from being totally self sufficient and all the rules make it harder not to be dependant on someone else for something. Just ranting on my own frustrations with the way things are going. It's very different out of state and they are less controlling of their inhabitants. That's all.
