I just picked up a Remington Model 8. I originally thought it would take a 30-30 round, but after reading on it, I'm finding that it takes a 30 Remington. Does anybody out there know where I can find these rounds and approximately how much they might go for. I was told by someone already that "if you find some buy them". Sounds like there aren't a bunch out there. Thanks for any help!!!

You can also make 'em from 35 Rem. Use 30-30 load data.

The first center-fire I ever shot was a model 8 in .30 Rem.

Uncle Bill's was a .32 Remington..... first rifle I carried deer hunting up at the Black Cargo mine. I don't know if that was the first centerfire I shot or if it was his Ruger .44 carbine.

The .35 Rem is a larger diameter case than the .25, .30 and .32 Remington, so you can't make the smaller calibers from the .35 Rem case. (I wasn't 100% sure, so I checked the books. The smaller rounds have a head/rim diameter of .422.)
