having had to go through this exam I can tell you the common denominator between the rifles you mentioned and the ones with no issues are the CRF function.

Folks can say what they want about the PF CRF debate, but it's exams like this shot by very experienced shooters under stress fire that see the cream rise to the top.

Mauser made a rifle to prevent panic fire jamming issues. It worked for the military and it still works for Professional hunters today. Regardless of cartridge choice the rifle should be strongly considered when serious about a DG tool.

CRF = Controlled Round Feed. The newest Rugers are CRF, some older versions had the parts to be CRF but would only function that way with some Gun Smith work. Over all the New Rugers are outstanding rifles. The best rings and integral bases in the business too!

I have a 375 Ruger.
It is a great rifle.
I plan on reloading 235 grain barnes bullets for it, so i can use it on elk and huge boars.

I've not had very good luck with the 235 grain bullets in the 375. They seem to shoot fairly well to 100-150 yards, however once you cross the 200 yard mark and further their accuracy starts to fade quickly the further you get. I suppose I could tinker with them a bit more to see what I could do. I think they are short enough that they get a little unstable over time, or as they slow down?

The 250 and 270 grain bullets are like magic. The 270 TSX and Aframe are simply wonderful bullets that can cleanly harvest anything alive. The 27oTSX at 2800 fps is like a magic wand of death, even to game the size of cape buffalo and giraffe. The penetration of these 270's is stunning. With accuracy to match!

There may be better loads then I could find that will make them shoot? I've just not seen them shoot long range as well as the slighly heaver bullets. The beinift to the heavier bullets is also that once you sort this load out, your always ready for anything you want. Where as with the 235 grain, you have to go back and rezero and start over to hunt bigger game with a 270 or 300 grainer's.

i do not use a scope on my 375 Ruger.
i shoot iron sights only.
its my heavy brush or heavy timber rifle.
