My boys and I were out shedding on the weekend and found a nice 7 point antler, all of the points come off the main beam, assuming the other side is the same would this antler be scored as typical or non. Would you also get the extra circumference measurements??? any opinions on this would be appreciated.

Let's see the pic!

Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong.....

As far as scoring, as long as they come off the main beam you can score it as a typical. You can only take 4 circumference measurments (base, g1-g2, g2-g3, and g3-g4) maximum weather it's a 4 point, 5 point or in your case 7 point.

Congrats on the find!

All of the points would be scored but there are only 4 circumference measurements even if you have a 7 point rack (6 point plus eye guard).

Here's a link to the PDF for scoring -> score sheet

I'd have to see a photo in order to confirm if the shed is truly typical. Even though all seven points come of the mainbeam, they all may not be classifiable as typical points. It just depends on the location of each point.

When you get a chance, post a photo and we can clarify this for you.
