Since the hope of Batch getting his money back for his fiasco hunt isn't looking good I'm going to bail on this peeing contest. It's not worth the bother.

As far as Tom's "Poor poor me" stories. You may want to buy a box of tissues to read them with. As one person who's met Tom put it,

The boy is very Clintonesque in his story telling. Very compelling tales.

i think some "guides" are better suited for "put and take type operations"you dont
tend to get as much heat from those types of hunts because you no your going to
kill something because they were put there for you!! stay away from fair chase
pig guide, and stick to something you know!!and cough up the cash dude,it
truly is the write thing to do.

Wow. This is more popular than the old "Hooters" thread was back in the day.

Hey. Just trying to add a little levity to the situation guys. There has to be a way to work this out like the gentlemen that I know you all are.

I just want to know why SBC was given such a postive JHO Journal write up??

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div>
Jesse, Westy, and myself had the opportunity to chase some deer and hogs with Tom Younce of Santa Barbara County Outfitters. He was mostly showing us one of the properties, but we did get some hunting in. No blood this trip, but I'm looking forward to getting back out there.
Check it out now, in the JHO Journal.[/b]

I thought the "specials" sounded to good to be true, but the JHO Journal write almost made me change my mind. Lucky for me another hunt came up.

I use this site to get information both good and bad, and along the way make some new friends.

So Jesse it bothers me that you and your PRO STAFF put up a postive JHO Journal and then you say:

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div>
We covered several ridges and beanfields at Tom and didn't even see one pig track or turd or rooting area. The one track he took us to see was in the first beanfield. That was the only track I saw the whole weekend. We did see one old wallow hole.[/b]

to use your quote:
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div>
Where I'm from that's called double speak, forked tongue, talking out both sides of yer mouth.[/b]

I feel SBC should refund the $$ since they said they would, but I also feel you guys should be a little more careful with your JHO Journal write ups.

Thanks for the site, its great, but like anyting in life its not perfect.

Pig Guide,

I was one of those guys that sent you praise not so long ago when you were all worked up about a cancelled hunt. Remember?

Pig Guide,

I think I may have to look you up for a hunt in the near future. Your pride and honesty show through on this post and that is not always easy to find in a guide. Brian

I can say that the pride is still there but the honesty is something that I was way off on. You sign a Member up to a hunt that you claim was a lease property. The client apparently finds out later that you are not the only person hunting the land. Not to mention you stated in your earlier post that the owner had depredation hunts at night with Spot Lights going on. Come on who wants to hunt with that going on. But I am sure since you are honest and fair you told Batch about all of this when he scheduled the hunt. I also know that because you are a man of your word and honest as you have stated over and over that Batch has his refund in hand and somehow failed to inform everyone. Come on Tom I think you are the one on the Soap Box and the more that comes out about your opperation the least honest you are looking. Thank God all this came out before I scheduled a hunt with you. Tom, dont forget this all came about because you told someone you would give them a refund and apparently are not going to do what you said (Honesty). The rest of what you said has nothing to do with Batch or what this post was about. Good luck in the future

Batch,
Could you clear this up a bit. I thought you said the pig was killed by a fence boardering someone's property. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div>
Day 2 I killed a 150# sow bordering a fence to another property. We got the pig down to Tom's truck so he could take it home and put it on ice when a guy drives up and was hoping to hunt were we where and that he knows the land owner and has lived their all his life.[/b]
Also, it doesn't sound like a rancher of a boardering property was angry about shooting on his property. It sounds like a friend of the landowner showed up and talked to them. He didn't yell or wasn't angry. He was just hoping to hunt sometime on the property because he knew the land owner. It sure sounds like a legal pig to me. If it wasn't, clear it up Batch, please. So far, I've hear of five pigs killed on that property over the last few months. I've never been to that property, just the Bakersfield property, but I've talked to many people who have and all said the property was good and many saw both deer and pigs.

...if the tale I'm hearing about a cross fence shooting is true[/b]

I have read this thread a few times and to quote Batch...

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div>
Day 2 I killed a 150# sow bordering a fence to another property[/b]

I cant see any reference to shooting OVER a fence by Batch. If I missed it, can someone point it out?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div>

Whoa.... I had no idea that he offered other 'services'.... although I am loving reading this 'blow by blow' account.

Seriously though guys....

I think that everyone reading this thread has gotten the points from both sides.
This hole is already deep enough on ALL sides.

Now.... to the 'review' that was on the front page of this website. (this may be adding to the hole)
DoubleSpeak? Forked Tongue?
Hmm... OK... People have pointed out that Tom promised on thing, and didnt deliver (be it the promise of pigs, or the promise of a refund).
But, what about disturbs me is the fact that there was a really nice supportive review of the hunt with SBCOutfitters, and now we are reading that it was known (or at least highly suspected) that there was low pig sign, etc....
People booked hunts with SBCOutfitters due to the review that was on here. Now those reviewers are stating that they suspected a problem all along?
You know what? As one of those people who booked, I know what that bad taste in my mouth is......

Well "Pig Guide" has written pages of reply's here, but none of them answer the following 3 questions.

Asked before:
1. Were the floppy eared 500# and 700# pigs shot on your Bakersfield property "put and take" pigs?
After several paragraphs of dancing around the subject, the only answer from Pig Guide was:

"Why is the same pig in the " Hog Hunter " magazine, that was taken by a FAMOUS guide, accepted? And mine is not? "

Now two new questions that are also unanswered:
2. Are you going to give the refund you promised?
3. Did you tell a customer to shoot a pig on someone elses's property?

It only takes a few lines to answer the questions, and probably put this whole issue to rest.

I'm going to shut the thread down for several reasons. It's just a peeing contest now and Tom refuses to answer the questions Bishop mentioned. If Tom wants to email me and refute those questions I'll post his reply.

As far as Batch's refund, Tom can do what he wants on that. I'm not going to hold my breath.

Tom's review was pulled so as far as why Phil gave our nod to Tom's place well, most of this happened after our hunt. We've done what we can to remedy the situation. We tried to get a customer his money back. You want to believe someone when they tell you something but sometimes it doesn't always work out.

Please don't start this mess back up in another thread or new thread. Just let it go and get out and chase some pigs.

</damage control>

Thanks
