Sweet pig!

Javelina next?

Dang bro, you married up.

Just don't bring no Love lauguage books to Alaska, especially 10 miles from the nearest road and 5 days into a 10 day hunt.
Homey don't play that.

Absolutely awesome story!

So, Brent... you know I got lots of spaces still open for the Memorial Day weekend hunt.

If I can get a couple of other fellas to bring their gals, I'm betting I can get Mudwalker (Kat) to go again.

ok, I'm a little new at this, i thought i sent a reply, but don't see it. i can shoot a pig, but can't work the computer...I wanted to say "Thanks" for all the kind and positive words. It really means a lot. I've tried to tell a few of my "lady" friends about my weekend, and I haven't gotten the same - what should i say...positive remarks that i have from you all. So, thanks again.

When talking to non-hunters, you have to say Wild Boar, not piggy. That will peak their interest.

Here's a pic of Julie driving my truck. I wanted to walk down from Speckmisser Ridge and down through some nasty bedding areas. But, I didn't want to walk back up. So, I asked Julie to drive my truck to the bottom of the steepest stuff Tejon has to offer and wait for me at the bottom. I put the truck in Low Low and asked her just to idle down. Well, there's a little turn-around at the bottom. Or, what I thought was the bottom. She happened to find a little grassy two track that kept going down and down and down. When I popped out where I thought she would be there was no truck! Uh oh. Then, I found her tracks leading off through the grass and over the hill. Uh oh! A little two track that I didn't know existed. I followed it down. I heard the truck way down in the bottom. I called her on the radio and asked, "Hey where are you going? Can you turn around and come back up here?" This was her first extreme offroad- type driving experience. I can't repeat what she said, other than she wanted me to get down there and drive the truck back myself. So, I started walking down the two track, ducking under tree limbs and such. Then, I heard the truck again and could see her coming my way a few swithbacks below me. She did it. She turned around and was heading my way. As she approached, I saw my lovely wife's finger sticking out of the window. She wasn't happy. But, she endured and pulled it off. I would not have even gone down that road. Some of those roads are washed out and there's nowhere to turn around. If you've been to Tejon, you know of which I speak. Wheew.

OOH!!! MY GOSH!!!! We have another excellent story teller, author, communicator par excellence just like Speckmisser and Docchery. What a well written, engaging, exciting write up on an edge of the seat hunting tale that scored a touchdown, a homerun, a winning basket, a knockout punch at the buzzer. It was a cliff hanger at it's best. CONGRATULATIONS for a winning shot at 186 yds. at the closing minutes of the last day of the hunt. You should buy a Lotto ticket. It is indeed all is well that ends well. We are all so happy for you 8track. God Bless and 'Nuff said.

SHAZAAM! I know that road! Can't believe she drove down it...not to mention turned around and came back up. In a full-size truck, no less!

Nicely done, Julie!

Brent, hand over the trousers, amigo...you've been displaced!

I have to say 8 track, you are a hunters DREAM WIFE.

I have one too. Shes never once has complained about the time I spend hunting. And she tells me shes getting ready to go out with me soon enough. My wife told me she will be ready to start hunting once my 10 year old twins boys are ready to go in 2 years when they turn 12. She said she doesnt want to be left home alone every weekend.

I think your great, and your husband is a very lucky man. Good for you both.

CONGRATS on your piggie

And to you too Brent,

What a sweet tale and super cool hog.

I had to bail out do to a family issue, but was thinking of you both.It sounds like you got the bonus tour of the ranch Julie, even Roadmisser Road.

Hope to see you in May.
