Instead of starting a new thread with bird pictures in it every weekend, I'll just add to this one if I have any new images I want to share.

If you have any bird pics you want to post and don't want to start a new thread... please post them here.

I'll start with a few Black-Capped Chickadee's (Parus atricapillus)

These little guys are super fast, this is my best in-flight shot of one so far.

Very cool Wapiti, I missed one that looked a lot like that red belly today... I've never seen one like it around here before. That Carolina Chickadee (Parus carolinensis) looks a lot like the Black-Caps (two different birds).

Here are a few Tundra Swan (Cygnus columbianus) pictures that I took this last Saturday. This was my first time seeing them here.

Nice Pics guys.

Paul, is that area huntable? Looks like there is plenty of waterfowl to be had!!

Thanks Zach, the area where I took the pictures of the swans is off limits to hunting but the surrounding smaller pools are 'huntable' (this is the main body of water at the refuge).

A picture of some Northerns taken the same day as the swans...

And a picture of some snow geese flying by... this is about 1/3 of the flock, all I could get in the frame (sorry, it's a crappy pic).

More pics from the wildlife refuge. The weather/light was terrible and it was my first time using the 2X converter... I wish these would have turned out a little better.

Some juvenile Bald Eagles (Haliaeetus leucocephalus). There were about seven of them hanging around together.

Some guy was there taking pics and let me slap my camera body onto his 500mm (and 2X converter) prime for a few shots. All three pics have been cropped, so these aren't very good for comparisons. Just one pic with the 500mm to post...

Here is the black capped chickadee in-flight again. I didn't want to delete the image, so in a desperate attempt to save it I applied a filter to give it a painted look.

Very cool Leod! I like the way the house finches are looking around… I can’t make out what the second one is from straight on.

One more from yesterday… I was watching some ring neck ducks and all of a sudden I hear *snort* *snort* *snort* real close behind me, I turned around to catch this female Whitetail Deer (Shouldahadarackus) running behind me. It was still very dark and I’m surprised I didn’t get a blur with the slow shutter speed.

The Three Stooges… Cormorants from today…

A Ring-billed gull. This guy would keep perfectly still until I aimed my camera at him, and then he would quickly walk away.

These are no-where near as good as the one’s Wapiti has posted, I was super jazzed to get them though since it was my first time ever seeing a Pileated woodpecker (I didn't even know we had them here)…

I’ve seen a Red-bellied woodpecker before, but never when I had a camera with me…

Man I hope there is some more sun next weekend!

Hope you don't mind game camera photos. It's very difficult to get good bird pictures using small cameras.

Thanks, it took me over 2 years to get a good pic of the eagle. I could get all kinds of pictures using my Nikon or oly740, but it's a challenge to set the Sony 41 up and get the birds.
