Since not many are posting thought I'd post a few deer finds from this year.I never keep track of all the doe or skulls that I come across.Only the buck that still had racks. My buck count is 12 or 13 so far this year with most being small.
Alot of the deer get hit by cars and run off to die.

I agree, I don't like finding dead deer either. Especially young up and comers.
Hers one my son found just yards from my feeder and camera.
this was a young deer that had a lot of potential. He would score in the 170's
I'm thinking he was killed by another buck.

Wow guys, you found some nice bucks! Too bad you couldn't have found their shed's instead.

Laker, that thing is a monster! What a shame....

Do you guys take the head when you find a nice one? I know around here taking of sheds and skulls is legal.

I've only found 2 dead bucks, one was a 4 point with main beams that curve in and nearly touch, and the other was a button buck I found the 4 point by the side of the road in a ditch (clearly a roadkill) it had been there for over a year, one side was completely buried in the mud, so one side still has some of it's color and the other is completely bleached white I still don't know how I spotted that one antler going 50 mph down the road, if only I could find the sheds that easy.

I haven't found any dead deer at my uncle's or my house this year, usually I find 6 or 7 does and my uncle occasionally finds a dead buck, I did find some bones on my last trip out but they were from an older carcass at least a year old from all the rodent nibbles on them, I couldn't find the rest of the body

laker, if I was in your shoes I would probably start crying over that buck, he's a monster!

here's a photo of the 4 point I was talking about earlier, I wish I had a photo of it as I found it, but I had a good pair of shoes on so I just darted out in the field, pulled it from the muck and ran back to the Explorer the dark side was completely buried in the mud and just the bleached side was sticking up, I spotted it going down the road at 50 mph! how I did that, I'll never know lol

I came across this elk last season while on a cow elk hunt. He had been poached and meated out. You can tell as the breast plate was sawed through, not the work of your average lion or other predator.

He only had one antler in this photo as the other one was sawed off when I found him. Now he has no antlers

Not a bad bull though.....

I sure wish I could have seen this big guy during the season. I found him only 3 miles from my house.

Here are a couple found in s/e WI. This first one had been there a while, found it about 10 yards off the National Ice Age Scenic Trail.

Almost stepped on this odd little rack before noticing it in the swamp grass.

This is the only good sized buck I found dead. He was a Milwaukee buck, found right on the edge of town.
