seriously, anything"feral" which im sure you know all pigs are in this state,
can be any color, im no biologist but im guessing it has to do with recessive genes, ive seen many spotted hogs in my tenure,
and like i said, thier the first ones to "get it" many spots to put the crosshairs on
the logo on the
hats is my buisness, the words on the back say"GET SOME" we did on this trip..
affirmitive phil, you know how i role with the high pressure washer and blowdryer in tow!
im all about the money shots..., the brown one though, not so pretty, that aint water your looking
at on that pig ,
In my opinion, the spots come from a domestic line. There's a breed of domestic pig that has spots, called a "Spotted Poland-China" and they look a lot like that. I'm sure with one of them getting out and shacking up with a feral pig, BOOM, you got lots and lots of feral hogs with spots. Either way, looks sweet. I bet it was a bear to clean too!
Man, tough to beat that story and pics, congrats to you and the kids
Looks like a hell of a good time, keep on posting. Being a recent transplant to the North East, I miss pig hunting the most right now. Not sure if this helps or hurts
Those smiles tell the whole story! Looks like fun times. Can't believe I'm going to say this but.... I can't wait to have kids!
Those are some nice pigs. COngrats
no doubt cold1, some of the biggest hogs i''ve hammered over the last 23 years have been spotted or blonds,
worst tangle i ever got into was with a spotted hog one year, there probably pissed they gotta go threw life with
a bunch dots on them maken um stand out, and thier buddys given um a hard time cause they look different and
are bigger and badder
when there is a sounder of hogs on the hillside, if one has spots,he's always the first to
get the 130grain sharpie
daddy63, same crap with the copper,im not really one for taking pictures of guts{
especially with the kids with me}but i think i,ll start documenting the pin holes thru the lungs and hearts of the critters that
get traumatized by the copper, sure, they die, eventually
these 2 particular hogs went about 150 yds with no reaction what so ever, would be nice to hit um in the spine every time, but lets keep it real here,in my opinion, there
is gonna be ALOT of lost animals due to people not realizing they have hit there animals, the gooberment has done its job in
feeding the condor..
i,ll stop here, i'll be back out next week, and as always,we'll post um as we drop um
Matt you are "livin the dream" baby!!
That is so awesome to be sharing our great hunting heritage with your kids and they sure do seem like they are enjoying every bit of it.
I'll be takin my boys out hog huntin right after Thanksgiving. I hope to have just a fraction of the success that you've had on the porkers this year.
