First of all, I am new to this site and glad I found it.
I am planning to hunt FHL sometime this year for hogs and have a couple of questions.
I have only been there once and it was during deer season years ago, so I don't what has changed.
There will be three of us hunting.
Do we sign our permit together or seperate?
Where is a good place to camp?
What is be the best time to go?
Also, I am not looking for anyones secret spot, but were are some good areas to start?
To be honest the only pig I have taken was on 166 at Rockfort Ranch area.
Any infomation would be helpful.

Thanks,

Larryz

Some areas that you can look into that I have seen pigs in are 24, 10/13, 29, and 30. Almost all areas hold pigs. When you get there read the game report booklet. See what areas are getting auction in and go from there. Best time to go is probably now until end of May.

Good luck.

They have camping across the game check station. $10 a nite for so called improve sites and $6 for the over flow. There is a little box for camp site envelopes. If you get a pig and the check in station is closed there is an old swing to the right of the buildings to hang your game and for skinning. Please clean up your mess after you are done if not Lea will catch up with you and give you a fine. Clean up after our selves help preserve what public lands we have left. GOOD LUCK!!!

Larryz,

Welcome to Jesses!!

Jesse has a great page with lots of info for Fort Hunter Liggett. There is a link to the liggett home page, which will provide you with an application, and instructions.

Last time I hunted up there, I saw about 12 running across the road in TA 25, over to the no hunting area. They love to get out there and graze all day. Saw tons of elk and pigs, all hanging out there just out of reach. Good Luck!!
