Brokenhorn and clutchkiller,
I bought the camera to use at my deer blind (Minolta Dimage 7i). It takes great scenery pictures and I found out later, great macro's. I have an easier time stalking bugs than I do deer. All the pictures are around my house and all the macros are hand held, which I could never do with my 35 mm. I will usually take close to 100 pictures a night and maybe save a dozen out of them.
I've taken some scenery pics too, I have a Oly C-750 and I am very happy with it. It's the same camera that OhioBowhunter used last season to take the pics of those HUGE deer from his stands. The pics below of the sunset were taken last December, and the Tornado pic was taken the past spring.
I hope you enjoy these.

JLC, I hope none of them critters get into your house.
RtWill78, great shots. You've got some beautiful skies there, and that little twister is a cool shot.
I've got an Oly C-740 and was amazed by the quality of pics it takes, and CK yes it can be very addictive. I had the 740 less that a year before I bought my Canon DRebel. I can already say I'm planning for the a higher model with less that 6 months of the DReb!
