I like the butterfly shots, are they from the 'walk with the butterflies' that you mentioned before (I've been waiting to see some pics)?

Thanks CK, no they are not from the "walk with the butterflies", it turned out that the only day that shutterbugs could come in with cams and get shots was the 17th and I had to work that day. This is at blind Boone Park in Warrensburg, Mo. The statue is a sculpture of John William "Blind" Boone.

I love good B&W's, especially of statues... I can't decide which of the two pictures I like more though. I think if I wanted a really good picture of that particular statue, I would go back just after a rain when the sun wasn't so bright (I think it would look really cool with the concrete or stone being wet).

Ahhhhhh, if I could only control Mother Nature

edit- On second thought
<
...... that statue would look really cool in color with a heavy rain falling off of it. I've figured out how to increase the shutter speed on my Z740 to catch falling rain, but it makes the image very dark and very grainy....... hmmmm....... don't mind me, just thinking out-loud

Thanks for the comments.

CK maybe you could start another thread of what shutter speeds you are using with the Z740 to stop the rain, and if it is grainy maybe someone can help you with correcting that. Just a thought.

No biggie, I'll figure it out if it can be 'fixed.'

Maybe you should enter that picture in this months contest... it does suggest 'motion.'
