Good deal! It does look like a great hunt, and a full freezer as a result! Can't ask for much more than that.

Feel free to post up as much detail as you want about the outfitter. That's part of the purpose of this site is for members to share info about our hunts.

Guide is Marty Rovenstine
He lives in San Miguel.
He is booked up through the end of deer season.
He has been guiding since he was a teenager and has lived in the area for around 30 years.

I have hunted w/him many times and would go again in a heartbeat.
Actaully, I'm trying to get something together in the spring.
No real amenities other than a campsite.
It was nice to have a place to take the animals to get cut.

He works hard and is a real professional.

Thanks for the info... I've talked to Marty before about a hunt but it never came together on my end.

Congrats on the successful hunt. Those pigs are going to eat good.

Does Marty have an outfit he works with or do we just call the number? What's he charge?

Nice work!

Enjoyed the read. Always nice to see pics and hear success stories. Also cool you got to hunt with your family.

How much does he usually cost?

Thanks!

No website or anything. Word of mouth.
I hope I didn't let a cat out of the bag.
He runs his operation by himself. He has a helper sometimes.

Hunters can motel it and meet him in the AM or camp at the hunting area.
No electricity, running water, or bathrooms.
We just stockpile on food and water and camp there.

His pig hunts are $500 for the weekend plus $100 per pig.
$200 for a "trophy." He is flexible w.what constitiutes a trophy. He is not going to make you cough up $200 b/c you shoot a heavy sow.

Looks like you have pleanty of pork in the freezer! Way to knock them down. And I bet your son can hardly wait to get one of his own.

Oz,
A person can get into archery distance on the ranches.
I didn't bring my bow, but I was w/in bow distance a few times.

More than a few times I have been w/in bow distance w/shot opportuntities.
I have been out and had nothing close also.
