A northern flicker

I had been trying to get an image of one of these birds for about two months now and they have always been too far away. Today I had a male visit my backyard and I managed to get a few shots. I couldn't get him at a different angle so the background isn't very good. This is nowhere near as good as the ones Wapiti has posted.

And oh yeah... more snow... yippee

Looks like the only problem was that he was in the shadow. Otherwise, it is a great shot, I see no problem with the BG.

Thanks Hideandwatch, the only time I ever see them is when the weather is bad... I should have tried my flash.
