My story goes like this...

After doing some still hunting I set up on a funnell leading to some water. I got set up and at about 5:30pm the hogs started to work their way down off the hill. I shot this one at about 15yards and he ran off behind a big ole oak tree. The other hogs that were with him didn't even know that anything was wrong, they just kept working down the hill. I was about to shoot a second hog but thought I'd better not since I didn't know where the first one ran off to, other than behind the big oak. So, I let the others go (about 6 or 7, and all about the same size). I waited about 25 minutes, got up, looked around the oak, and there was my hog not 30 yards away, dead. I nice clean kill. I hit it in the back right ham, hit the femoral artery, nicked a little intestine and out the other side... Died quick. Not the best shot I'll admit but no tracking was needed what so ever.

Chopper said, "We can all agree this isn't the biggest hog, but it sure will be good eaten, and it's dead, laying in the back of the truck".

I shot it with my Dryad Wind Talker. All wood laminate, no glass. 58lbs@28", 64" from ntn. Bamboo backed. Arras were POC, with a stain/poly finish, ACE broadheads... I made them up my self.

I've never seen so many hogs at Choppers place before. BTW, did any one tell you how bad it rained one morning? I happened to get a little bit of a late start that hunt and when I got to my spot where I was going to get out of the truck I said screw it and sat in the truck... Later I picked up Zimm and AS who were darn near hypothermia.

This will go down as probably the best trip I've had up there.

Like I said, they woke my warm, comfortable snoozing butt up. Sounded like a bunch of wimmens who got their hair wet.

I'm trying to recall the last feller I knew who called in a turkey during gale force rain and winds. Hmmm.

Plus they wouldn't get out from in front of the fireplace for hours. You'd think they got wet and cold.

Had their undies hanging all over the cabin like a bunch of goils. Orso manned up.

Zimm.....what's 'Dozer' talkin' bout?
<
I just remember coming back to the cabin and seeing him wearing his scooby doo under'roos cuddled up by the fire........had to poke'em w/ a red ember just to get'em to share the fire a bit. Just cause my finger were white, lips blue, and i was shivering uncontrollably....i was perfectly fine.
