A Zone Early Season

Anyone else going out early season A Zone this weekend? I'm heading south from San Francisco looking to hunt some of the BLM land southeast of Monterey, always looking for a hunting buddy if anyone else is going to be down that way.

For sure, I think I'm still going to try my luck at the limited public land first and see what I can find. It's a shame how little there is.

I saw your post too late to respond. I live in the south bay and would have been right along your path south. Maybe we can plan something else for another weekend.

Yup, looks really good. $600 divided by 100 lbs equals only $6 per lb -- not a bad price.

I will ask him to join me on a scouting day to verify his claims, and then pay him and schedule the hunt --

Be very careful about hunting with strangers that you meet on the internet.

I fell for this once and ended up with a psycho and almost ended up in a gunfight with him.

Better to hunt alone than with a stranger.

Or in the field. I met 2 nice guys rabbit hunting, it was Dove season also so i told them a place i know, we went there and after a 1/2 hour i am looking down the barrel,s of 2 sheriff's and 3 hwy patrol men, next thing i know all 3 of us are handcuffed sitting in the back seat, i am thinking WTF did we do. Long story short a lady watering her front lawn was hit by buckshot, when we were hunting i told the two guys lets turn around because were getting close to the homes but a meadow lark fly's up and the one guy starts shooting, thank God the lady did not want to press charges.

I wouldn't count on a coastal blacktail giving you 100lbs of meat
