I recommend Upper Cottonwood. Better scout early before Archery season starts. Go waaaaaaaay back. Steap terrain- Hope you are in shape and have good hiking boots! I have seen some pigs... not many and a few bucks. Dry year. I would immagine very few animals are passing through the area. BRING A LOT OF WATER! gets real cool in the early mornig- can be foggy and real windy, also can be hot and dryer than a popcorn fart. Goodluck!. http://www.dfg.ca.gov/lands/wa/region4/docs/ZoneADeerApplication.pdf

I thought San Luis was open to hunting all year?
Cottonwood is closed off season, so first week is ~special~ and thus a drawing. No drawing needed after first week.
Lower cottonwood and San Luis are shotgun only. Unless there is an exception for first week?

Not worth the time and effort doing the paperwork.

Pigs are 5 miles from the road. You shoot a pig it's a real hard work. :skeered:

Here is a DFG map I modified to summarize that area.
