Slowpoke,

I think that BirdDawg is trying to call you out... He knows that you picked up that pig from a rancher just down the road from the ranch you hunted. He knows that you tied the pig to a tree just tight enouh so that when he heard your truck pull up, the pig broke free and portrayed being wild. He knows you must of had corn mash and dielsel in the back of the truck and the piggie was trotting towards you just like Wilbur waiting for a handout. Come on is this pig for real? hahaha.

Oh ya BirdDawg, those dogs in your avatar, are they even yours? Come on now, fess up. Who you tryin' to fool.

Seriously though, in case ANY ONE is taking this seriously please DON"T. The HOG looks wild enough for me and I don't see why any one would want to rain on anyones first hog. I guess we can all stir up the pot when we want to but isn't that just best left for the Campfire Forum?

Nice hog Reggie. May you relive the hunt with every bite...

Oh BirdDawg, I'm just funin' with ya. Your dogs look real legit.

Congrats on the nice hog

I am no expert but it looks wild enough to me and besides didnt pigs start off in this country as domestic? Anyway pork is pork to me so congratulations. I can't wait to get a chance at a hog my self. I havent hunted them since I was a kid and can't wait to find a area with some. I am an expert on taste so why don't you send some of that meat my way and I'll tell for sure. A nice ham or some ribs will do.

anyway good job and good luck on getting another one

And don't you fret about BirdDawg... he's just jealous because his pet deer went AWOL just before the season opener.

Good job, and excellent choice of hunting attire!

BirdDawg,

I will start off with an apology since I don’t know you or your intentions. What are you trying to imply? Do you think it was a canned hunt? The pig was shot in a barn yard? It feels like you are trying to degrade the accomplishment of taking a really nice wild pig with archery tackle. It was not a guided hunt and there are no guided hunts held on the property as far as I know. It is almost a 20,000 acre ranch that has a ton of hogs on it this time of year. There would be absolutely no reason for someone to plant hogs out there. I would estimate we saw at least 150 hogs that weekend. Chris made a great stalk and perfect shot. Let's just congratulate him on that

Great point!! A boar with an arrow is something to be proud of. I am sure he was just joking but lets give credit where credit is due. Nice work, Nice Shot, Nice Pig.

We get a lot of arm-chair hunters here... I'm shure he's ribbing you because anyone who hunts in the field and not from their armchair can see that pig is a wild feral hog.

Congrats...

you could teach some folks here a thing or 2.

not implying anything...........just looked like a domestic hog to me......I know a few guide services that turn loose domestic hogs to mix with their wild hogs.........also know of other people who got tired of raising hogs and just opened the gate and let them go............still have a few decendents of those hogs around here........sorry if I made it sound like I was putting anyone down.
