A friend of mine send me a picture of the pig he shot last week end at Parkfield.
Saw a couple when i hunted his place couple of years ago, this is the first time he shot a pure one.
So if you hunt Parkfield and see one dont be alarm its not a ghost:rotflmao:
and shoot it.

I've seen a few blond ones up there too. My favorite are the big old silver or gray looking boars. I've never killed one but I've seen a few pictures of ones that were killed on a ranch I hunt. Cool looking hog!

I shot one of those pure silver color hog at camp bob a few years ago. There were about 10 pigs in the herd and three of them were silver. I thought they must've been very stressed out to get those silver/grey hairs.

I also got a few seconds glance at a bright blonde hog on Cummings Mtn. Never saw it again. And yes I thought it was a ghost. The Patrolman saw it again two days later but didn't get a shot at it as well.

When I was growing up in the Philippines............lots of our neighbors were raising backyard domestic pigs for a little extra income. Funny but all of them raised only blonde domestic pigs. I guess it was because it was easier to see if there was flea infestation.

I have shot a few blonde ones but never a pure white one.
A few years ago a herd of 20 - 30 mainly white hogs came into town every night until F&G trapped em all.

Right on, sancho; on both counts.

A true albino should have pink eyes and a pink nose. That nose looks colored to me.

It's still a cool color and a hog I'd be glad to shoot! :thumbs up:

Most, if not all the wild pigs in California are euro/feral with a hint of the domestic swine traits. I am guessing if the pigs don't have the pink eyes and noses then their white/silver coloring is probably a throw-back from the American Yorkshire or some type of Landrace breed. Either way, really nice looking pig. Those whites, spotted, and calicos are always a nice change of scenery from the normal black....

Seems like when they are small they have alot of white and pink noses, but soon the color pigmentation kicks in. I have seen all kinds of color combinations other than just black...
